ABC Board store inventory and inspection files, ca.1980-[ongoing].

The ABC Board Audit Division is responsible for inventorying and auditing ABC Board stores on a routine basis. Audits are also performed when a manager change occurs or unusual variances appear in the Monthly Store Stock and Cash Accountability Reports (series S-54-25). In addition to counting stock, the Audit team reviews several areas of the store's operation and prepares an inspection worksheet. The results of the audit are reviewed by the audit staff and a grade (above average, satisfactory, or unsatisfactory) is assigned to the store. Copies of the final report are distributed to the administrator and the store manager. This series consists of the record copy of the Report of Inventory and Inspection which provides store number and location, type of report, present report date and rating, previous report and rating, auditor's name, average monthly breakage or shortage, monthly sales, net shortage/overage, petty cash and change fund (amount authorized and amount on hand), day's receipts and deposit, time of inventory, man hours required to complete audit, and store manager and audit supervisor's names. Also included are inspection worksheets indicating findings on warehouse stock, shelf stock, cash, physical appearance, store records, supplies and equipment, security, and the auditor's general impressions of the store. The file may also contain other supporting material such as Report of Loss and Damage Claims, Store Daily Reports, and Auditor's Inventory Sheets.
